From a card table and $15,000 in 1961...
With a handful of investors and $15,000, Home Savings Bank was organized in the fall of 1961 and began financing furniture sales contracts from South East Furniture Company.
In September of 1979, Home Savings Bank changed from being a finance company to an industrial loan corporation (thrift and loan), and began taking savings deposits from the public.
The early 1980s was a period of transition for many in the lending industry. The ensuing years brought many challenges.
In 1982, we commenced lending against Utah real estate and since then have continued to be aggressive in serving the financial needs of the people of Utah.
Home Savings Bank became a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in October 1986, insuring our customers' accounts up to $100,000.
On March 1, 1990, Home Savings Bank became a Utah State Chartered Bank.
